New editor for madforsailing
Tuesday May 8th 2001, Author: Sian Cowen, Location: United Kingdom

James combined two careers as a multihull yacht broker and a freelance photo journalist working for the Daily Telegraph and yachting magazines around the world, before joining Yachting World magazine 12 years ago first as Features Editor and then as Assistant Editor. At Yachting World James specialised in reporting on what were the unconventional forms of offshore yachting race - singlehanded, multihull, open class, record breaking and generally anything non-handicapped, designed for speed...and usually French.
During his tenure at Yachting World this side of the sport became increasingly popular not only in France but in the Anglo-Saxon world as well, demonstrated most recently in Ellen MacArthur's spectacular second place in the Vendee Globe and Club Med's victory in The Race. He will continue to write his monthly Extreme Sailing column for Yachting World while editing your favourite website.
