After the excitement of the close race 11 finish in Mauritius, the activity on shore has been fast and furious. Whether it is scrubbing or sewing, the dock is full of activity as everyone sorts out the yachts after their hard and fast sail here.
The yachts have now completed four legs of The Times Clipper 2000 round-the-world race. The next leg will take them to Cape Town and Salvador, this is due to start on 5 June. The final leg (six) goes via New York and Jersey and finishes at Portsmouth, England around 21 September, berthing at Gunwharf Quays.
The fleet is awaiting the arrival of Bristol Clipper, skippered by Bob Beggs. Bristol Clipper was late leaving Christmas Island due to having to fit a new injector pump for their main engine.
It was hoped that she would arrive late Thursday local time, but Beggs reports that the high pressure to the south of them is giving them light winds and slowing their progress. Realistically they are unlikely to arrive until first thing on Friday. It promises to be a great moment when the Bristolians are reunited with their seven rivals following the passage from Christmas Island.
Overall Points Summary

3. London - 57
4 Plymouth - 52
5 Liverpool - 51
6 Portsmouth - 51
7 Leeds - 31
8 Glasgow - 25
Note: Liverpool is ahead of Portsmouth based on her best result (first in race seven)
