Ainslie to be star of the show

The Laser Gold medallist will be giving talks at the Sailboat and Windsurf Show weekend after next

Ben Ainslie Olympic Gold medallist in the Laser class will be staring at the 2002 RYA Sailboat and Windsurf Show at Alexandra Palace on 2 and 3 March.

Ainslie recently announced his Finn campaign for Athens 2004 after leaving the One World America’s Cup team, and will be signing copies of his new book Laser Campaign Manual and the RYA's Sydney Olympic Video On Top Down Under.

The show will feature a Live Question Time show giving visitors the opportunity to pose questions to Ben and other top UK sailors.

Technical talks will also be another big feature and a new edition to the show. Experts will be on hand at a variety of stands to include: Volvo Youth Stand, Crewsaver, Wanderer, GP14, RNLI, International 14, Finn, Bainbridge, Wayfarer, Solo, Cherub and 405s, to give presentations and handy coaching tips.

UK Tornado sailor Hugh Styles will also be present at the show, and is looking forward to answering any questions or queries that visitors may have. "The show will be a great opportunity to see and talk to people from all the different classes in the UK. It’s great for us International sailors who spend so much time abroad to get back and take part in events like this - and if we can answer peoples technical and sailing questions and help them out then so much the better," he told madfor sailing.
