Bacardi blown off
Wednesday March 6th 2002, Author: Sacha Oswald, Location: United States
The third day of racing at the 75th Annual Bacardi Cup Star-Class Regatta was cancelled yesterday due to high winds and seas. This means that the results still stand after race two, with John MacCausland and Sean Delaney of America leading the regatta by one point from 1992 Finn Olympic Champion Jose Van Der Ploeg and Diego Fructuoso of Spain.
RYA team GBR sailors, Ian Barker and Ed Peel are in fourth place overall after sailing consistently to post two results inside the top ten. Team mates
and fellow Olympian, Iain Percy, sailing with Steve Mitchell, are lying just outside the top ten after finishing 31st and 2nd, in the racing so far.
