New electric winch conversion pack from Lewmar Marine

Lewmar Marine over at stand 286 have an extensive display of their equipment including the new Convertible Winch.

The Lewmar Ocean Winch range now incorporates technology that allows the manual version winches to be upgraded to an electric version by installation of a power drive unit, motor and switch gear.

Older Ocean Winches, manufactured since 1992, can also be converted by installing a new centre stem as well as the power drive unit, motor and switch gear.

Both these solutions allow economic upgrading of your manual winches when you decide to take advantage of power winches. The latest convertible unit provides an immediate solution for those going for the electric winch from the start.



Another new product for Lewmar at this show is the retrofit Hatch Vent which is available to fit both their low and medium profile acrylic hatches as well as in deck. No sealant is required when fitting and they come complete with a captive bung. The vents can be fitted to deck thicknesses up to 100mm.
