Silva, the Swedish-based world leader in navigation and outdoor equipment, has released a new fixed VHF radio – the Silva S15 DSC.

The S15 DSC is a rugged, fully waterproof, fixed VHF radio operating on all current marine channels including M1 and M2. When connected to a suitable GPS and NAVTEX receiver it also functions as a DSC VHF receiver, GPS navigator with routing and waypoint capability, and a dual frequency NAVTEX unit.

The large LCD display shows up to eight lines of text, or single items in a large, easy-to-read format. Other features include;

- 25 watts output power
- Programmable memory scan for frequently used channels
- Waterproof fist microphone with integral keypad including DSC functions
- Distress button with protective cover
- Channel 16 instant access button
- Fully compliant with CE and R&TTE directives

Priced at £329.00 including VAT, (£399.00 including VAT with NAVTEX receiver) the S15 DSC is a first class VHF radio with a range a functionality that makes it both a compact navigational aid and a valuable piece of safety equipment.
