If I pay up and in say three months time not enough others sign up and you therefore have to close the site, presumably you will be legally obliged to refund some of the subscription or to keep the site going.
The numbers of subscribers so far is very encouraging and we are positive that the site will move happily over to a subscription service. From the start we have said that if the site should close then all subscribers will get the unused value of their subscriptions back.

It's a shame you're charging now for access, bit difficult for me to stump up the cash for twelve months not knowing what you're going to do with it. I find it easy enough to get the information of many other sites, although you do have the best pictures. Bye.
Madforsailing is going to continue on as the worlds No1 racing website, a successful move to subscriptions will pave the way for future development of the site both in terms of design and content. It has always pitched itself as a one-stop shop for all your racing news, meaning you don’t have to trawl the web for snippets of news. Our journalists are out there writing in depth about what is going on in our sport on a daily basis, not providing mountains of fluffy sponsor friendly press releases.

If I sign up to the subscription now to make the saving, when will it be billed to my account??
The credit card payment is processed overnight and so will appear on your monthly statement as normal. If you use a debit card it will usually come out of your account the next day as per any other purchase.

Would it perhaps be possible to make available a minimal version of the articles for use by services like AvantGo (www.avantgo.com) to allow people to read madforsailing on their PDAs? This usually requires very little extra effort after it has been setup
We fully intend to develop madforsailing as a service to its subscribers in the coming months. We have looked into PDA and SMS services so just watch this space!
