The Spanish coastguard has salvaged the former Whitbread maxi boat Creighton’s Naturally, after her crew were forced to abandon her in a storm on Tuesday night.
Now lying, broken but very much afloat, in the port of Gijon on the northern coast of Spain, the boat’s owner Stuart Bowen-Davies told madforsailing he planned to fly down on Friday to see the boat and assess the damage. 'It has been a Spanish Bank Holiday,' he said, 'so it has been very hard to get any information about the state of the boat, but I am hopeful we can have her up and running again.'
