All the fleet start to catch northwesterly

All the boats have reached by now the northwesterly breeze and are making good progress towards Cape Reinga, 680 miles away for leading yacht Assa Abloy.
They are sailing parallel courses with stronger pressure in the north. Tyco separated to the north, away from News Corp, who is holding a tight cover on illbruck one and a half miles to leeward.

After Assa Abloy’s big lead had materialised, a discussion among the navigators started to which Mark Rudiger contributed: "Hi, my name is Rudi... and uh... I’m a chronic gambler! Meanwhile, since this last gamble has paid off so far" and Ross Field of News Corp commented, "It’s amazing to read how some of the other boats see situations."
