Soling builders secure Yngling licences

Two top Soling builders have made up for a potential shortfall in Olympic business by securing contracts to build the Yngling, the keelboat which effectively replaced the Soling for the Athens 2004 line-up.
Abbott Boats in Canada have been granted a licence and their production tooling is currently under construction on the official Yngling plug in Norway. And Borressen in Denmark have already produced three new Ynglings, following the purchase of their production tooling and builder's licence from the boat's designer Jan Linge, who has decided to stop building the boat himself.
The existing builders, Dewolf in Rhode Island, USA, and the Australian Yngling Association will continue to build the Yngling, and two further builders in central Europe will be formally announced when contractual arrangements have been completed.
