The spectacle continues

By 15.00 we were at the leeward mark and seemed to be very much down the pan. But it is the type of regatta where it really is the taking part that counts. By now there was a strong breeze for us to head back towards the last mark which was again near Lepe on the mainland side. The J Class' were heading back with us and it was
Endeavour's turn to hit the mud. Fortunately she didn't go hard on but had to drop her colossal headsail. She was soon sailing again but crossed us still bear headed.

We hoisted for the last time and began our run home to the finish along past Gurnard and past the Squadron lawn full of spectators. We don't think we were in the prizes today as we have been every other day so far, but that's yacht racing.
