Prada's 12 metre

James Boyd has a crawl over Nyala, the 12m of Ernesto Bertelli

Friday August 24th 2001, Author: James Boyd, Location: United Kingdom
Down below there is accommodation, complete with berths and settees rather than a hollow cavern for stowing sails. The heads compartment is original and galley area has a sink and some fabulous metal antique taps. There is a full bulkhead and stowage for sails forward. The only structural change to the boat has been some steel tube cross bracing for the foot of the mast.
Despite the 1930s technology Nyala is currently leading the classic 12m division ahead of Sovereign.
