Elvstrom Sobtad promote ex North man

The Elvström Sobstad Group has appointed Andrew Smith as Group Vice President effective immediately.

Former Technical Director for North Sails in the UK, Smith starting working with Elvström Sobstad Group in January 2006, involved in the design and development of the company’s new range of sail products. He will now assume the role of Vice President, based at the company’s headquarters in Aabenraa, Denmark.

Claus Olsen, President of the Elvström Sobstad Group commented; “I am very pleased to appoint Andrew as Vice President of the Group. His experience in the design and production of sails has proved invaluable since joining the company earlier this year. Having Andrew based in Denmark will also allow us to focus more on developing new products and manufacturing techniques for the future.”

Responsible for all technical and production operations at Elvström Sobstad, Smith commented; “I am excited to be moving to Denmark. We are currently undergoing some significant developments at Elvström Sobstad which include new production facilities and product developments for 2007. I look forward to working with some great sail designers and with the best sail making technology available on the market.”
