British solar powered electronics specialists to introduce new Race Master wireless digital display

Solar power experts Tacktick will be launching a new Race Master wireless digital display designed for sports and keel boats at the London Boat Show in January. The new Race Master incorporates Tacktick’s Micronet technology resulting in a sophisticated wireless, multifunctional instrument key for optimising the performance of sports and keel boat sailors

The new Race Master in standard mode comes with racing software enabling easy to set up lift/header information as well as compass, start line and timer data. A new feature of the new Race Master is the Start Line feature which is quick and easy to set up prior to the start of a race and gives both ‘at a glance’ start line bias as well as mean wind line bias information. Using the new Race Master will enable sailors to quickly and accurately assess start lines and sail the shortest distance around the race course making it an essential racing tool.

In Micronet mode, the new Race Master, when networked wirelessly to the appropriate transmitters, enables a host of additional data to be displayed such as speed, speed trim, depth, wind and GPS information. Additionally, when used in Micronet mode, the display data can not only be displayed on any number of remotes used by crew members on the rail and in the cockpit but also the Race Master itself can be driven and the data changed using the Remote from anywhere in the boat making it the ultimate racing tool for serious sports boat sailors.

The new Race Master features many improved design features including clearer two-line LCD displays with improved viewing angles, larger digits and Polaroid friendly screens. The new Race Master comes with the latest, most efficient solar panels resulting in improved charging rates as well as the integral 300 hours autonomy from the accessible lithium batteries. As with all Tacktick products the Race Master is waterproof to 10m and lightweight (445g) essential for all sports and keel boat racers!
