With the nights drawing in and the threat of autumn sailing on the agenda clothing company Helly Hansen have picked out a couple of new items that could fit the bill, plus a couple of old favourites.
First up is a new addition to their Warm collection, the Frost V-neck base layer (below). The top is a thermal base layer designed for warmth and dryness in cold conditions. The Frost is available in male and female versions in a range of bright colourways. Costs £40.
Obviously not quite matching the DailySail woolly hat for exclusiveness, Helly Hansen have a couple of trendy beanies available at your local stockist. For girls there is the Dotty Beanie with brightly coloured dots. It costs £15. For men, the more macho named Bomber Reversible Hat could keep your ears warm. The hat has ear flaps and comes with bold stripes on one side and solid colour with embroidered detail on the other - it costs £18.
No Christmas stocking would be complete without a pair of socks from your Mum. Designed boys and girls, the Midwinter sock features a padded footbed that wraps around the achillies for protection and durability. A fine blend of Lifa technology and soft merino wool gives this sock gives excellent moisture management and warmth. Costs £10.
