Henri-Lloyd set up camp in Weymouth

Last summer it was announced that Weymouth, an internationally renowned location for sailing events, will be the centre for the sailing regatta during the 2012 Olympic Games.

Last November Henri-Lloyd opened their latest sailing concept store in Weymouth town centre, the first major marine brand to open a standalone store in the town following the announcement.

The official opening reception at the store will take place on 1 March 2006, when double Gold Medallist and Henri Lloyd Ambassador, Shirley Robertson OBE will be the guest of honour. Shirley, who won consecutive Gold medals at the Sydney and Athens Games, has been supported by Henri Lloyd since the start of her sailing career.

In conjunction with the new store opening, Henri Lloyd have also recently agreed title sponsorship of the Weymouth Town Regatta, which takes place from Weymouth Marina and involves all the local sailing clubs from 11-13 August 2006.

The opening of the new store in Weymouth follows successful openings in Lymington, Falmouth and Cowes, part of a continued programme to roll out the Henri Lloyd sailing store concept and complement the city centre stores in Manchester, Birmingham and the flagship store in Carnaby St, London.

Designed by Checkland Kindleysides who have worked with Henri Lloyd on the openings of their other concept stores, the brief was to create a store which captures the broad appeal of the brand; from the pinnacle of sailing endurance to men's and women's fashion.
