Raymarine has recently announced a 14.7 per cent rise in sales and a 53 per cent rise in profits before tax, with worldwide sales increasing from £106.3m to £121.9m. These preliminary results reflect the company’s launching of new products, and breaking into new emerging markets.
Andy King, Director of Sales and Marketing, says, “We have looked carefully at all aspects of our business and made significant enhancements in many areas. This includes branching into new territories and looking at the changing demographics of our buyers. Our product range has been extended and developed, and at the same time, we have re-structured our sales functions to enable us to respond quickly and efficiently within the worldwide market place.”
A number of key sales personnel are joining the organisation, taking up newly created International Sales Manager roles. Stuart Drysdale joined Raymarine on 5 January as Sales Manager for Asia/Pacific and comes with over 20 years of sales experience in consumer electronics and information technology in the Asia/Pacific region. Graham Farr joined Raymarine on 1 February as Sales Manager for Northern & Central Europe and brings over 15 years of new business development and sales management experience in electronics in the European market place. Two more appointments will be announced shortly for UK and European roles.
Andy King explains, “Our new sales structure has enabled us to appoint key personnel who bring relevant experience within the consumer and technical markets, as well as detailed area knowledge. We have a well established network of international distributors who sell into local territories, and Raymarine now has the experienced Sales Manager personnel in place to enable our distributors and retailers to provide the best sales and service options to their customers, in line with other technology-led organisations.”
