New location

RYA on the move at the Southampton Boatshow

Tuesday June 21st 2005, Author: Helen Jeffreys, Location: United Kingdom
Just a short walk from the marina entrances, visitors to this year’s Southampton International Boat Show will easily discover the bigger than ever RYA stand. Enjoying fantastic views of the marina, the shared stand with the BMF (E052), will have plenty on offer for visitors, including a new interactive experience, RYA expert advice, membership information as well as a chance to buy the latest publications.

Featuring a new interactive walkthrough experience ‘Green Blue’ will allow visitors to the stand to put their environmental knowledge to the test and find out just how green they really are. A joint RYA and BMF project, ‘Green Blue’ aims to promote and achieve good environmental practice amongst boaters and industry. The project will be launched officially at the show.

Following the successful ‘ask the experts’ series at this year’s London International Boat Show RYA staff will once again be available to answer questions from the public and provide expert advice on a range of subjects. A full timetable will be posted on the RYA website ( http://www.rya.org.uk), or come along to the stand to find out which guests will be featuring.

Check out the Honda RYA Youth RIB Championship Final taking place on Saturday 17 on the water, as the best young powerboating talent in the UK compete against the clock in a series of boat handling skill drills. Spectators can watch the kids perform their manoeuvres on the Honda waterside Grand Stand.

2005 is the last chance that RYA members will be able to visit the RYA members’ lounge in its current location. Located next to gate C, it offers the perfect opportunity for RYA members to relax and enjoy some refreshments.
