Rum for Gipsy Moth IV

The Gipsy Moth Mount Gay Red Party at the Royal Gibraltar yacht Club was witness to the revelation that
Gipsy Moth IV has now been honoured by her very own Anniversary Edition of the chosen brand. A special blend of the Sugar Cane Brandy has been subject to a special bottling and its very own label. Never to be sold, the 120 bottles will be used to help generate funds for the Gipsy Moth Project by auction and a few highly honoured supporters of the project will be fortunate enough to be awarded a bottle.
First to receive a bottle of the special rum was Paul Gelder, the Founder of the Project and the two Directors of the Blue Water Rally Peter Seymour and Tony Diment. Presented by Mark Docherty UK Brand Manager of Mount Gay Rum, he said, "I am delighted to be able to offer the support of Mount Gay to the project. In anticipation of the Gipsy Moth's voyage to Barbados to collect its cask of the new blend (in the time honoured tradition of the old clipper ships), there will be a very special reception being laid on to honour the famous lady's arrival." A beach party and a tour of the distillery are also on the cards.
A bottle of the Gipsy Moth IV Limited Edition has joined the boat along with the 7th crew member (Blackbeard the mascot, who was seen partaking of a drop or two at the party). The bottle (still sealed) will travel around the world with the yacht to form yet another link between the project and the brand.
As supporters of all the Gipsy Moth events since the start of the project and with their incredible links with the sailing community, it is great news that there will be the 40th Anniversary Limited Edition to commemorate the second circumnavigation. Sir Francis said when asked by a reporter when his spirits were at the lowest ebb he replied "when the gin ran out". No such worries for the Gipsy Moth Project's parties, they are being very well looked after by their partner Mount Gay.
