New deck shoe from Gill

Technical performance brand Gill is launching a sailing shoe that promises to deliver the most grip of any shoe they have ever produced. The Gripper is available from April and will retail at £50 or €75.

Gill say they looked closely at what sailors really need in terms of practical footwear on and around a boat and narrowed the key feature down to grip. The feedback was unanimous in that gripping the deck is very difficult even in the mildest of conditions but good grip can give you a much higher level of confidence.

This shoe also allows you to 'feel' the deck whereas many shoes these days have so much cushioning that you actually lose the feeling of contact with the deck that gives you the real stability you need to rely on in all conditions.

Gill Grippers are lace-ups and are made from quick-drying, breathable and water-friendly materials. Available in Red or Navy.
