Panasonic, the leading supplier of consumer and business related electronics products, have become an official supplier to RYA Team GBR in the run up the 2004 Olympic Games.

Panasonic have supplied RYA Team GBR with a range of audiovisual equipment to use not only in the run up to the Games but also in training and coaching sessions for those aspiring to Beijing in 2008.

RYA Olympic Manager Stephen Park commented, “It is great that Panasonic are sponsoring individual sports in the run up to the Games. With 31 days remaining until the Athens 2004 Olympic Games it will not only help our team in the run up to Athens but also help to provide a legacy for the sport towards Beijing 2008.”

As well as supporting a number of National Governing Bodies of sports who are sending teams to Athens, Panasonic are also sponsoring a number of young Olympians including 470 sailors Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield, who are part of the Panasonic Young Olympians squad.

Russell Simpkins from Panasonic UK commented, “Our Worldwide Olympic sponsorship provides the ideal platform for us to utilise our products in helping to coach and train existing and future Olympians. The more recent developments in technologies such as DVD and SD enable high quality images to be analysed in detail as well as allowing easy portability. We are very pleased to be assisting the RYA and wish the team every success in Athens.”

With 31 days to go until the sailing begins at the Agios Kosmas Sailing Centre in Athens, the team are training hard in the hope of a successful 2004 Games.
