Schedule announced for next weeks UBS Trophy in Newport

The Rhode Island Sailing Foundation, and Team Alinghi, organizers of the UBS Trophy, have announced the event race format as follows:

June 18 1500 Practice starts
June 19 1330 Two professional skipper races
June 20 1330 Two professional skipper races
June 21 1330 Two professional skipper races
June 22 1330 Two professional skipper races
June 23 Scheduled Lay Day
June 24 1330 One professional skipper race, two owner/driver races
June 25 1330 One professional skipper race, two owner/driver races
June 26 1330 Two professional skipper races

Spectators will be able to enjoy close up viewing of the race starts and finished from Fort Adams, the hub of activity for the UBS Trophy. There will be plenty of off water festivities happening daily at Fort Adams. There will be a merchandizing area where the public can buy official event clothing, and local vendors will be selling food and beverages. BMW, a co-sponsor, will have cars on display, while Nespresso and S.Pellegrino encourage you to stop by their coffee and water bars to sample the goods. Parking will be plentiful and a water taxi will ferry people to and from downtown Newport.
After the racing, press conferences will be held daily at the Newport Shipyard, at approximately 5pm. The public are welcome to view the press conferences and tour the Shipyard for up close viewing of SUI-64, winner of the America's Cup 2003, and USA-76, BMW Oracle Racing.
