One of the latest entries in this year's Barcolana race, the world largest yacht in the world (yes, Round the Island race, this is true) with around 2,000 boats taking the gigantic start line off Trieste in Italy, is the women's Volvo Ocean Race boat Amer Sports Too.

For the race this Farr design will have a male crew led by helmsman Lorenzo Bodini,
a local talent who has taken part in a number of Barcolana races on board Goose and Gander, second in 2001 and Trappola in 1998 and has raced in the Olympics with his brother Marco, who will also be on board Amer Sports Too for the Barcolana.

The Barcolana takes place in on 12 October, but the team will be training and racing in the Super Open Cup, one of the many races in the Sail Week starting on 6 October.

"We are very happy to be present with this boat, which sailed the last Barcolana race last year," says Bodini. "However, this year, we think we have a great chance of being among the most competitive teams, having on board a very experienced crew. We will race a few days before the sail week begins so we can see where we can optimise the boat and modify the last details and then finally establish the sails program."
