For the third day of competition, race four was held in northwesterly winds of around 14 knots.
The day was good for Canadian former World Champion Ross Macdonald/Kai Bsorn, who took the lead on the second beat after being third at the first weather mark rounding. The second beat today saw the consolidation of the first three places with second place going to the Austrians Hans Spitzauer/Andreas Hanakamp and third to Italians Enrico Chieffi/Agostino Sommariva
Thus there have been four different winners in as many races.
The Dutch duo of Mark Neeleman/Peter Van Niekerk, winner of the first race are hanging on to their lead of the Star Europeans with a four point lead over Olympic medallist Torben Grael and third placed Iain Percy and Steve Mitchell.
Tomorrow is a lay day where some competitors will be taking the time to view the possible America's Cup venue at Cascais. Racing continues on Monday at 1400 with the fifth race .
