mfs subscription: FAQs

I completed everything and paid my subscription but didn't get an activation e-mail (or have lost it)?
If you complete your details, but your activation e-mail does not arrive after an hour or so, take this link to have your activation details resent. The screen will ask for your User Profile name or e-mail address. Complete one or other and the system will resend your activation e-mail. Verify that the email address that is displayed on the second page is correct. If it isn't, or you don't receive the activation e-mail within an hour or so please email: actkey@askey.co.uk for further assistance.
I can't sign on to the site and I have checked that my user name and password are correct.
Have you activated your account? After subscribing you should have received an e-mail containing a URL link to activate your account. You must visit that link
and successfully complete the process or you will not be able to log on, even using the correct user name and password. NB: user names are not case sensitive but passwords are.
Aside from this occasion problems can be experienced unless
- Session cookies must be switched on plus any fancy browsers which give you a chance to reject cookies from a site once then remember this fact and keep
rejecting them automatically. These must be manually reconfigured to allow www.madforsailing.com cookies to be accepted.
- The proxy server/cable modem/firewall must allow session cookies to be passed back to the customers PC (this can occasionally be a problem if viewing the site from a large corporate set-up).
I'm getting pissed off having to type my user name and password every time I log on...
Most modern browsers have the abilty to 'accept Cookies'. This has nothing to do with Elevensies or Afternoon Tea, but the ability for your PC's operating system and your browser to remember your user ID and password.
If you have logged on to madforsailing with you user ID and password then your 'session' will last for however long you are connected to the site moving around the pages. If you leave the site and return within 30 minutes you are still logged on. If you don't communicate with the server for more than 30 minutes you will get logged off. If you close your browser you get logged off.
