Holy Cow!

Introducing some hot new features on your favourite yachting website

Take a look around madforsailing today and you will see a number of changes.
Who WAS that masked man?

Firstly the button showing the 'Caped Crusader' to the right is a new way to contact the premier racing news website (that would be us...)

The idea behind Bat-Mail is quite simple; you, our readers, the madforsailing community, are based in over 40 different countries around the world and most of you are involved with the yacht racing scene. So if you come across a story you think might titillate your fellow readers then you should send us a 'Bat-Mail'.

Think of Bat-Mail as a confidential tip-off line - you can now contact us by special email and let us know if anything suspicious is going on around your neighbourhood. If it looks interesting, madforsailing's hungry news hounds can then sniff about and see if you are onto something.

Our normal Feedback will continue as always as the place for you to send us your personal views on issues or what has been published on the site.

Bat-Mail is not for bitching, you will need to include your email address, so we can contact you. We will protect our sources, but we also check our facts!

But that is not all

Okay, we admit our log in process has been a slight pain in the arse. Previously you typed in your user name and password and provided you surfed around the site you wouldn't have to log in again. However if the phone range and you left it 30 minutes you would be logged off and would have to sign in again. Arrrrggggghhhh.

As of today when you log in you will notice the log-in page is different and now includes a small box. Click on this box and you will not only remain logged in, but you will also be able to close your browser, walk away, go for lunch, whatever, and then later when you return to your computer and fire up your browser and your favourite website, you will find that YOU DO NOT NEED TO SIGN IN AGAIN. Hurrah!

About Us

You will also notice possibly that the centre 'blue lozenge' at the top of the page has changed to read 'About Us'. Being shy retiring folk we have been reluctant to come forward with our true identities until now. Seriously, we have been very aware that a majority of websites are run by faceless, anonymous geeks and we are keen to turn that around - the faceless and anonymous bit at least.

So click on About Us and you will not only find out about the bunch of reprobates who work on madforsailing but also about our 'star' writers, the prestigeous award we won in January, and even how to contact us.

And finally

A plea. We are desperately trying to make a go of madforsailing. We hope and believe it is a valuable service within the international marine media and want to be able not only to continue offering you this for the long term but also to improve and develop the site. As our sole form of income is through the sale of subscriptions it is imperative that as many people sign up as possible, so if you know anyone who hasn't handed over their £25 and should have, then please encourage them to do so!
