MaxSea can transform your onboard PC and GPS into a state-of-the-art chart plotter and navigation system. Newly launched is version 10 of this software.

This features a brand new interface which is more graphic and intuitive. There are new buttons to access MaxSea features, and new data display modes available including an ECDIS-type display. The on-line help is more closely integrated with the program and can now be displayed on the right hand side of the screen, or in a simple floating window

MaxSea has always included harbour tides even in the basic program, but now, as requested by users, tides are displayed as curves. The new weather data display can be more or less transparent, and can be configured by a simple click on the new 'MaxSea weather' button. (Compact MaxSea weather data can be downloaded from www.navcenter.com, or ordered by e-mail using the MaxSea Chopper graphic interface).

A new chart engine allows new zooming modes (drawing a rectangle, using your mouse 'roulette', mouse right click, magnify tool, + and – keys, etc.) while ARCS charts can now be displayed in seamless mode. Version 10 is also compatible with the latest C-Map NT Plus vector charts.

The new version now supports data for the Gulf Stream, US coast free tidal stream data, new high resolution tidal streams areas for Europe. MaxSea integrates tidal stream data in its calculation of the course to steer, laylines, and weather routing.

The performance module will help you get the most from your boat. It Data Trend Center gives a graphic history of wind and performance data. This is the ideal method for detecting long and short term trends and oscillations in wind direction and strength. Based on this historic data, the Data Trend Center will project these trends into the future.

The wind often goes through periodic oscillations in direction and strength. Within the oscillations may also be hidden trends in direction and strength. What MaxSea Data Trend Center does is look at the historic time period, and then project that history forward.

Aside from this the performance data display gives you constant updates on target wind angles and target boat speeds. Your performance efficiency is indicated graphically and numerically, you can see how you are doing relative to the theoretical potential.
