SEB
now firmly ensconced at the back of the pack, Gurra Krantz is clearly starting to dwell on what has gone wrong with his campaign. In an e-mail from the boat he talks about some sailing superstitions.
We like our green boat. Some people say green boats are bad luck. The same people say that a new built boat shall never come out of the shed bow first. Our boat came out bow first. Again the same people say that you shall never launch a boat on a Friday. We launched on a Friday. Thank god we are not superstitious. But we are slowly getting there.
We have good conditions for SEB. Code 0 and a staysail. She really likes it. So why are we not gaining on the others? Because we are green? I don't think so. It is because we have a slightly more westerly track and we got stuck twice under big clouds we could not avoid. Did we get stuck because we have a green boat? Don't think so.
Did we have the incident with illbruck because we have a green boat? I don't think so. We made an error, that's why.
Are we going to repaint our boat? Absolutely not. We like our green machine. Yes, we have had more than normal of unexpected incidents, and we are going to turn it around.
SEB will be sticking with their green boat
