She was so good-looking I couldn’t take my eyes off her. True story

What is the funniest thing you have either witnessed or experienced whilst sailing?
Windward mark, spinnaker hoist, the bowman hoists the spinnaker walking backwards, he disappeared over the side

Do you have a favourite sailing venue and what makes it a great place to sail?
Plymouth Sound - perfect sailing in sheltered water when required , access 24 hours for big boats and has some of the best West Country views

What’s the single thing that could most improve the running of regattas?
More exposure on TV would lead to better funding all-round for everyone

What is your greatest strength in sailing?
Focus and determination

What’s the single most important piece of advice you could give to younger sailors?
Never give up or stop , make it happen

Who are your sailing heroes and why?
Ernest Shackleton, outstanding act of seamanship

If you could sail for a day with anyone of your choice who would it be and why?
Paul Cayard for a vertical learning curve and he's an exceptional yachtsman

Who do you think are the best sailors in Britain?
Hard to say - so many classes

Who do you rate as the best sailor in the world?
Paul Cayard perhaps , would rate as best performing all rounder both offshore and inshore
