Thierry Martinez's incredible images of Alain Gautier and Ellen MacArthur on Kingfisher-Foncia

Leading French photographer Thierry Martinez took these incredible images of the 60ft trimaran Kingfisher-Foncia as Ellen Macarthur and Alain Gautier were training out of their base in Lorient, France prior to the start of the Transat Jacques Vabre.

They give an insight into the hard, hard life on board these ocean racing speedsters as well as an indication of what a handful they are not only for a full crew, but particularly short-handed.
