Accompanying them was one of the early committee boats during the famous 1983 Cup when Australia ll beat Dennis Conner's Liberty. Even ignoring her America's Cup history Black Knight is magnificent with her black top sides and beautifully maintained wooden coach roof and will be performing some of her original duties next week.
All the boats were unloaded by 1400 and despatched to various destinations around the Solent where they will remain until Friday when they will descend on Cowes.
There was one more boat to arrive today and one of the most famous in recent America's Cup history.
The Prada Challenge's Luna Rossa was the challenger in the most recent America's Cup in which they were roundly defeated by New Zealand. She has was delivered to the GBR Challenge yard by barge (her keel still shrouded, note) where she will be rigged and made ready alongside Crusader and GBR Challenge's ACC boats who were out today to welcome in the Italian stallion.
