Francis Joyon's 60ft trimaran
Eure et Loire has continued her winning streak by winning the Rolex Fastnet Race. Joyon crossed the Plymouth finish line at 10:29:54 BST this morning. She had to arrive at 08:30 this morning to break the outright course record set two years ago by Loick Peyron's trimaran Fujicolor, sistership to Joyon's boat.
Until quite late in the proceedings Eure et Loire stood a possibility of breaking the record, but ran out of wind on the run into Plymouth.
Over the night John Kostecki's illbruck Challenge overtook Team News Corps in the Volvo Ocean 60 fleet.
