Round the Island five day forecast
Monday June 11th 2001, Author: Mike Broughton, Location: United Kingdom

Looking at the weather for this Saturday's Hoya Round the Island Race is forecasting at the far side of the crystal ball: the hot weather looks like it is going to break unfortunately on Thursday afternoon/Friday morning. We then have an unsettled spell, with a low pressure system invading from the west giving changeable westerly/south westerly winds. These will initially be quite light but will increase during the day.
Tomorrow former Whitbread navigator Mike Broughton examines whether the weather conditions are right for the course record to be broken.
Also look out for Mike's indispensible series on navigation and tactics for the Hoya Round the Island Race starting this Wednesday
