Third consecutive title for Chris Rashley
Britain's Chris Rashley has been crowned the Moth European Champion for a third year in a row.
After a terrible week weather-wise in Masala, Sicily, where it appeared that the series would not be valid because only three races had been held, finally conditions came good on the final day with a northeasterly of 9-12 knots, gusting up to 15, allowing two more races to be held. before the Kuehne + Nagel 2013 International Moth European Championship came to a close.
For the third time in a row Chris Rashley has won the title, posting a 4-1 (his third bullet in five races) and discarding a fourth leaving him three points ahead of Hyde Sails ace Mike Lennon. In one race, Rashley literally went from last to first after a capsize. This is possible in the Moth, where speeds are so high. While the difference in speed between 470s might be 0.2-0.3 knots between first and last in the foiling Moth it can be 4-5 knots.
