Bacardi Cup - staying ashore for a second day
With strong easterly winds across the Florida peninsula, the organisers of the 85th Bacardi Cup were forced to cancel racing for the second day in a row.
Organisers have revised the schedule for the 67 registered Star teams to include a second race on Thursday and Friday. The schedule will not change for the Viper 640, Audi Melges 20, Melges 24 and J/80 classes, which join the Stars at Bacardi Miami Sailing Week presented by EFG Bank, starting on Friday. Racing will conclude for all classes on Saturday.
The weather has had no effect on the social schedule which includes the Bacardi Happy Hour, along with the exhibitions of Rhode Island-based award-winning nautical photographer Onne van der Wal and 150 Years of Bacardi, a collection of information, photos and artifacts from the Bacardi Museum.
