VIDEO: Darren Bundock

The double Olympic Tornado silver medallist gives us a state of the catamaran nation

Monday May 2nd 2011, Author: James Boyd, Location: France

Olympic cat sailing legend Darren Bundock was competing at Eurocat in Carnac over the week aboard the Australian-built C2 F18 he markets.

In this interview the double Tornado silver medallist looks forward to the ISAF Mid Year meeting in St Petersburg next week where it seems likely that at best two multihulls, men's and women's, could be chosen to be among the Olympic equipment set to be used at the Rio Games in 2016 or at worst the present recommendation of a mixed catamaran. Bundock's partner is Carolyn Brouwer, who with Seb Godefroid was the only woman to compete in the Tornado in Beijing, but Bundock seems reluctant to put his relationship through an Olympic campaign...

Bundock shows us around the C2 catamaran as well as the Viper Formula 16 catamaran that proved so dominant this weekend at Eurocat.
