Vestas SailRocket at the RYA Dinghy Show
In its first public appearance since bidding for the speed sailing record in October 2009, Vestas SailRocket will be on show at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2010, held at Alexandra Palace, London over 6-7 March.
Vistors will have the opportunity to view this spectacular craft at close quarters and even have the chance to take a seat at the helm.
Throughout the weekend pilot Paul Larsen and the team will be around to chat about the record attempt (something he does well...!), the boat, what they’re planning next and answer any questions you may have.
Vistors will also get the chance to hear all about the challenges Paul and the team faced, as well as the many amazing experiences they had in attempting to break the speed sailing record last year when Paul takes to the Volvo Main Stage (13.15 Saturday and Sunday) for his talk ‘Speed Sailing in the Vestas SailRocket’.

Paul Bayliss, RYA Volvo Dinghy Show manager said: “We are delighted that Paul, the team and SailRocket are coming to the show, it really is something to be seen to be believed. I for one am looking forward to hearing all about their adventures trying to clinch the record.”
Despite the speed sailing record remaining elusive for the team, plans are afoot for a new 2010 campaign.
In 2009 SailRocket recorded an amazing 49.38 knots over 500 metres and reached a fastest peak speed of 52.78 knots (just over 60mph).
