Spanish lead in four classes

Olympic classes have one day left on the water at Palamos Christmas Race

Spanish crews are leaders in the Mistral men, Finn, Europe and Yngling classes at Palamos Christmas Race - with one day left to go. Neus Garriga will fight for her first victory in Palamós in the Europe class after finishing second in the past editions. Rafael Trujillo is leader in the Finn class ready to repeat last year's victory.

Second overall in Europe class is Gintare Volungeviciute from Lithuania and Danish sailor Signe Livbjerg is third.

In Finn class, Slovenian sailor Gasper Vincec (Dom-koper) is second followed in third place by Dutch sailor Stefan de Vries (Delta Lloyd).

Toni Colomar is followed in the Mistral class by Swiss sailor Richard Stauffacher (Chiemsee) and Goudjil Abdenacer from Alegeria in third overall.

Spanish Yngling crew Azón/Pisonero/Sánchez Ferrer (Ignacio de Ros-MC) is in the lead and will sail tomorrow for the final victory. Second overall is Dutch team Thies/Bes/De Jong.

In the Tornado class, Spanish crew Echavarri/Paz (Telefónica Movistar) have lost their leading position and are down to third place overall. First position is at this moment for Dutch crew Booth/Dercksen followed in second place by Russian team Kirilyuj/Ushov.

German team Kadelbach/Schöeder lead the 470 women standings and the leading place in the 470 men is for Bielorussian team Ivashencev/Kibirev.

Italian sailor is in the first place of the Laser overall standings. With a total of 5 races sailed in the qualifying series, the groups have now been divided in gold and silver and will sail final races today.

Sibello/Sibello from Italy are the leaders in the 49er class, followed by French crew Dyen/Rocherieux and Peckolt/Peckolt from Germany in third place.
