Over the next four pages we look at the different price ranges and the type of International 14s this will buy you.

<£1,500

For this price range you should be looking at Penultimate boats. The rules changed in 1996 which made boats designed before this uncompetitive. There are still a few racing and if you can find someone to race against they are a lot of fun and better value than any other class for this price! Designs to look for are Howlett 1bs, Morrison 7s and Benedict 4s. It is also worth mentioning the Classic fleet, these boats meet the rules in place before 1984 so have single trapeze and conventional spinnakers, you can find some very famous boats for less than £1000.
