Gold medalists show their form

Plymouth Sound provide the almost perfect sailing day on day three of the Ronstan / Gul 29er, 49er and 59er National Championships. A fresh North Westerly in sunshine. Fortunately sea breeze influence didn't soften the breeze and the three fleet had to contend only with the shifts and the tide!
In the 29er all the lost races have been sailed and consistency is still the name of the game, Tristen Jaques & Alan Sign still have the lead but are now being pushed hard by Dave Evans & Rick Peacock with only one point between them now the discard has come in. Bernard & Andrew Gammon are having an excellent week - usually known for their strong wind performance they are putting in a very steady series in the light/medium conditions to stand 4th at he moment.
The 49er fleet had 3 super races. Olympic Gold Medallists Thomas Johanson & Jukka Piiraninen finally showed their form by winning two races. However, it is still the US team of Dalton Borgan & Zach Maxam who narrowly lead over Ben McGrane & Jonny Clegg.
It was the first days racing for the 59ers. With three different winners and a fleet with some history in it to say the least it will be a close fought series. Ian Turnball & Adam Ovington have a small points buffer over Dave Hall & Chris Bashall who in turn only have one point over Steve and Charlotte Birbeck.
