B14 - In Brief

MadforSailing takes a quick look at the B14, the sit-out skiff

Monday July 24th 2000, Author: Gerald New, Location: None
An Australian design popular in the UK, it is now raced as a sit-out boat rather than with the original trapeze configuration. The large sail area and asymmetric spinnaker, coupled with racks makes an exciting boat but despite the large sail area many top crews are women.

There is a good UK open circuit with some European events and the Australian connection is still maintained. Hulls are constructed in Polyester foam sandwich and have recently been manufactured in the UK.
