Three races were held today, Thursday, at the Yngling European Championships in Spain.
Yesterday Renee Groeneveld, Annenieke Bes and Merel Witteveen (NED) had moved into the lead, following a first and a fourth place. Today, however, the Dutch team struggled scoring a ninth, a fifth and a disappointing 17th.
Reigning Yngling World Champions, Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson (GBR) jumped up the leader board from third to first place with a third a first and a 14th today.
Despite teams either side of them moving up and down, the American team of Sally Barkow, Carrie Howe and Debbie Capozzi remained in second overal.
Finally both Russian teams of Renee Groeneveld, Annenieke Bes and Merel Witteveen and Basalkina Anna, Ukraintseva Vladislava and Maximova Ekaterina are locked together in fourth and fifth respectively. This event is part of their Olympic selection trial so the outcome for both teams is paramount.
