A day for the French

The second day of the Tornado Europeans saw more light winds

Day two of the Tornado European Championships began hazy with little or no wind across the whole racecourse. The sun soon burned off the haze and a six to eight knot breeze filled in for the first race of the day

It was a day for the French teams out in Greece as yesterday's leaders Guichard and Guyader (FRA) consolidated their day one lead, scoring a fifth and a second, they now have a nine point lead after four races. Their teammates, Besson and Jarlegan (FRA) were looking strong at the top of the fleet, leading both of the day's races at one point. Their final placings of second and third shot them up the overall scoreboard to sit in second overnight. Another French team, Revil and Espagnon (FRA) were the victors in race one.

With the light shifting winds teams were regularly going from the front to the back of the fleet and vice versa. This was seen on the final run of the second race where Brits, McMillan and Howden stormed from fifth to first, a position they held until the finish.

Racing at the Tornado European Championships continues tomorrow in Greece.
