Canned again

Once again racing was canned at the CST Moth World Championships today, Tuesday.
After a long day of sitting around, racing was officially canned at 3:30 to allow the fleet to head out in small groups for the Velocitek speed challenge. However, as is often the case with these things as soon as the AP over A was hoisted the wind began to abate. Due to the wind decreasing, the speed challenge soon descended into a free sail with much of the fleet taking advantage of the conditions to hit the water for the first time in days.
The results of the speed sailing are still to be officially announced, however, we are reliably informed that Arnaud Psarofaghis (SUI) won with a ten second run of 26.1 knots. James Owen-Smith (AUS) posted the best peak of the day at around 27 knots.
With the forecast for tomorrow, Wednesday, looking bad once again the fleet settled in for a BBQ and a long night of drinking. Clearly the excitement of actually going out sailing was too much for the sailors as the bar was inundated by thirsty mothies who stayed on until the early hours.
