Hyde to supply foiling prize

Good news for January's Bloody Mary

Tuesday December 16th 2008, Author: Hyde Sails, Location: United Kingdom
Hyde Sails is to sponsor the foiling prize at January’s popular season-opener, the
famous Bloody Mary Pursuit Race.

Last year’s race saw a foiling International Moth crossing the line in the lead, which caused some controversy as the class wasn’t eligible for the main prize. Event organiser, Queen Mary Sailing Club, has responded to last year’s events, and, with the help of Hyde Sails, is to award a special trophy to the first foiling boat to finish the 2009 race.

The perfect antidote to the excesses of Christmas and New Year, the Bloody Mary is the UK’s largest pursuit race. The 36th edition of the race is due to take place at Queen Mary SC on January 10th, 2009. Hyde’s Paul Austin commented: "As well as being the sail supplier for the 600FF, Hyde Sails is a strong force in the foiling Moth class and across the huge number of classes that compete in the race. We are delighted to lend our support to such a prestigious event."
