Winder Boats offering a new Mk3

Monday July 13th 2009, Author: Justin Chisholm, Location: United Kingdom
The International Mirror Class Association is offering the chance for one lucky individual to win a brand new, race specification Mirror. The raffle draw for Mirror number 70600, a latest edition MK3 design from Winder Boats, will take place on the penultimate day of the forthcoming Mirror World Championships at Pwllheli, North Wales. The prize package, which is valued at £5500, includes a trolley and trailer as well as a full set of covers. Tickets went on sale at the beginning of the year and cost £10. It is not too late to enter and full details can be found on the official 2009 Mirror World Championship website.

Inexpensive, seaworthy and easy to manage both afloat and ashore, the Mirror has become the world's most popular double-handed sailing dinghy. Its deep cockpit inspires confidence for sailors of all ages and abilities and racing sailors agree that the Mirror is easy to sail, but a challenge to sail well. The Mirror is arguably responsible for introducing more people to the delights of sailing than any other dinghy and several Mirror sailors have gone on to Olympic glory, including British Gold Medalist in Qingdao last year, Paul Goodison. With regular updates to keep the class modern and fresh, the Mirror is just as relevant and popular today as it ever has been.

The Mirror Class are grateful for the generosity of the following companies for their support of the Win a MK3 Winder Mirror Competition: Winder Boats, Matrix, Scott Bader, SP Resins, Winder Trailers, Sigmatex, Diab, Aerovac, SuperSpars, Pinnell and Bax, Goacher Sails, North Sails, Speed Sails, Allen Brothers, Rain and Sun Covers, West System and Pro-Set.

The 2009 Mirror UK National Championship runs from 23-25 July with the 2009 Mirror World Championship taking place from 27-31 July.

The 2009 Mirror Junior World Championship sponsored by OCEANAIR will run concurrently with the main 2009 Mirror World Championship.

The official book of the 2009 Mirror World Championship written by Justin Chisholm and featuring stunning images by professional photographer Paul Todd will be available to order securely online shortly after the championship. More details are available on the event website.

The UK Mirror Class greatly appreciates the funding and support they have received from the Royal Yachting Association and UK Sport towards making the Championships a huge success.
