Bundock and Ashby lose a race

Shock horror - as the Greek duo win out in a light race on Lake Garda at the Tornado Worlds

Light winds prevailed today on Lake Garda for the Tornado World Championship where the Greeks Paschalidis and Trigonis one the only race sailed.

The forecast northerly wind arrived early, but brought again light and tricky conditions. It was not a one way track and there were a lot of possibilities for gains …and losses.

“Both sides were giving good opportunities; you just had to get it right. And we did,” said Trigonis. After today's race the Greeks are now third overall.

Leaders Darren Bundock and Glenn Ashby finished 9th, now their discard, which still leaves them 7 points ahead of the Austrians.

Austrians Zajac and Czajka had another good and consistent race finishing second.

As the wind died the boats were sent to shore to wait for the afternoon breeze to fill in. But unfortunately it never arrived and racing was canned for the day.

Tomorrow, Friday, is the last day of racing of the 2009 Tornado World Championship
