The Musto Performance Skiff Class Association (MPSCA) is delighted to announce the long-term schedule for major events for the class. At the recent ISAF Conference the Musto Performance Skiff was granted ISAF International status; upgrading the class from the previous Recognized Status. Following on from this International growth has continued and through this announcement the class is mapping out a series of events at high-quality international venues to attract even more sailors into the class.

The class was launched in 1999 and since that time has enjoyed significant growth in numbers, with boats now sold into 17 countries world wide. To support the international nature of the fleet the following event schedule will give the owners some fantastic sailing and travel opportunities

Highlights are:

2008 – UK National Championships 12th – 15th June, Whitstable Yacht Club
2008 – World Championships 24th – 31st August, Yacht Club St.Moritz, Silvaplana Switzerland
2009 – UK National Championships 19th – 22nd July, East Lothian Yacht Club, North Berwick
2009 – European Championships 1st – 4th August, Fraglia della vela Malcesine, Lake Garda Italy
2010 – World Championships January, Black Rock Yacht Club, Port Phillip Bay Melbourne Australia
2010 – UK National Championships July, Hayling Island Sailing Club
2010 – European Championships September, Societe Nautique de Lochmariaquer near Vannes France

MPSCA Chairman Simon Reynolds said “Following International recognition by ISAF, the Class Association has invested a huge amount of effort into the development of an exciting event schedule. We have now secured our first non-European World Championships, which we firmly believe will stimulate and support further fleet development in the southern-hemisphere.”

Paul Manning MPSCA Class Secretary said “Becoming an International class has meant that venue opportunities have opened up that may not otherwise be available. So we will now be visiting some great places in the future”

The development of this schedule has been the top priority for the MPSCA and the class would like to take this opportunity to thank the clubs who have agreed to host championships for the Musto Skiff. We look forward to some fantastic major events over the next 3 years whilst we plan 2011 onwards.
