Only one race was completed in all three Paralympic classes today in Qingdao, die to a lack of wind. It was a day of delays as the various fleets as they were forced to wait for three hours before racing could get underway on the Yellow Sea.

In the Skud 18 fleet victory in the only race of the day belonged to, so far underperforming Brits, Rickham and Birrell. However they are still a long way from the front of the fleet after Scandone and Tucker (USA) came home second, adding this to their other firsts and seconds so far this week. McRoberts and Louttit (CAN) came across the line in third position, allowing them to close the gap between Fitzgibbon and Cox (AUS) in second overall.

In the 2.4mR fleet things have closed significantly following today’s racing. A disappointing ninth from overnight leader, Tingley (CAN), has seen him slip back into second overall. Ruf (USA) has gone into the lead after finishing in seventh today. However, Schmitter (NED) is the man on the move and after winning the race is now in third overall on equal points with Ruf and Kroger (GER) in fourth.

The French team of Jourdren, Larhant and Vimont-Vicary are still leading in the Sonar fleet, following another first position today, their third in six races. Six points behind the French are Harrison, Boaden and Martin (AUS) who are currently in second after a third place today. Second across the line today was the Greek team of Christoforou, Alexas and Paterakis. It was an unfortunate day for the British team of Robertson, Thomas and Stodel who found themselves in third place, just short of the finish then sailed into a large wind hole and slipped all the way back to seventh in the race.
