Classes confirmed

Following the close of official applications yesterday, Thursday, we are now able to confirm the boats due to participate in the ISAF Women’s High Performance Dinghy Observation Trials to be held this year in Hyeres 16 - 19 April.
Although the boat guidelines set out by ISAF ( here) do not call specifically for a twin wire asymmetric boat it appears almost all entrants to the event will be.
We were made aware last week ( here) the newly modified RS800 was officially agreeing to take part. We also knew the 29erXX has been a confirmed participant since almost the outset of this process but there were question marks over which other boats would be attending
Interestingly two non one-design classes have entered the Trial. The Cherub class, represented by Richard Taylor's Daemon, are not a surprise having shown previous interest. The International 14 class were officially the last class to apply and will be at the event. When we spoke to ISAF President, Goran Petersson, about the future of the Olympics he presented a very pro one design view ( here.) It will be interesting to see if these classes offer up a one design version of their boats, like the Bladerider Moth (read about it here) furthur down the line.
Perhaps most exciting of all the boats attending the Evaluation Trial is the new (read as yet un-built) Carbonology GT60. There are currently very few details about this boat but we are able to reveal it is said to be a design by Paul Bieker and is being built in conjunction with Carbonology in Suffolk run by Dave Chisholm.
